Beneath Her Feet

The rain drops slide off her skin.
It appears nature is her only friend.
For years she has questioned her worth.
Finally, she opened that door.
She ran, she ran until she couldn’t run no more.
Her feet are soaking wet.
Lord knows she wants to find what’s left of herself.
She cried and smiled at the same time.
For the first time in a long time, she felt alive.
Her breath so heavy.
She quickly glanced back.
Enjoying the thunder, she left all the hurt and sorrow beneath her feet.
She was determined to find love and peace in her path.
